The Fast and Furious Kingston Hi Speed USB 2 Card Reader

The Fast and Furious Kingston Hi Speed Card ReaderCard readers are incredibly versatile and useful gadgets, without them it would be very difficult and frustrating, if not impossible to transfer data from the memory card to a computer.

I use my card reader at home, at work, and when I am out and about to backup or transfer data from my phone, PDA and any other piece of gadgetry that uses a memory card. It also comes in handy when transferring photographs from my camera. I could transfer them via the camera, but to do that would usually mean finding the right camera cables, installing software, and also leaving the camera switched on, using vital battery power. Taking the memory card out of the camera and inserting it straight in to the card reader is much easier and less of a hassle. Card readers are also superb if you want to quickly view the documents or images on the memory card via your computer or Laptop.

Sadly, the other day my beloved card reader stopped working, (which I had owned for 2 years), not sure which one to choose, I asked friends and scoured the internet for a decent card reader that would read many different memory cards.

Eventually, I decided on the Kingston USB 2.0 Hi-Speed 19-in-1 Media Reader, as a colleague at work had been using the same one for a few months, and he said that it was fast, reliable, and it was able to read all of his memory cards without any problems. The Kingston Hi Speed 19 in 1 Media Reader also receives great reviews on the internet.

Ordered online, it arrived 2 days later.
Out of the box it came with a self-contained USB cable and an additional 3-foot cable, which is handy if you need a bit extra length. The Kingston USB Hi-Speed 19-in-1 Media Reader is very simple to use, (works in Windows XP and Vista) as you don’t need to install any software, basically plug it in and play.
It has been in use everyday for nearly 4 weeks, and it has not let me down.
The Kingston Hi Speed 19 in 1 Media Reader is able to read 19 different memory cards, but strangley not XD cards. I use it for transferring data and images from microSD, SD, MMC and CF memory cards.
Transfer speed is fast and furious and the blinking light will let you know when the card is inserted.

Whether used for personal or business use, if you are after a card reader then I highly recommend the Kingston USB 2.0 Hi-Speed 19-in-1 Media Reader,.

Hi Jeff - I hate it when something you love stops working and it’s not replaceable. But 2 years is pretty good going for a card reader I guess. I only wish my laptops would last that long.

    Hello Cath,
2 years is a fairly long time, considering it had been dropped and stood on many times. My new laptop also has a card reader but I like the Kingston one best.

    Jeff
