Shoot your details.

At this time of year most people will be taking their Digital Cameras on holiday to take shots of the family etc and on average will take over 50 shots to take home and look at or print out. However what happens if your memory card gets lost and with it all those precious shots you and your kids have taken. One great way is to make sure that on the first frame of your memory card you take a shot of your name, address and telephone number, and then if someone does find it then it can be sent back to you

    Great suggestion.

I do work documenting events for a large non-profit company and always have to deal with capturing people’s contact information and gathering release forms. When I photograph someone and they sign a release form, I take a picture of the form with all of their contact information spelled out. When I go back to the office and start sorting through the photos, the personal details for each subject are listed in the image that immediately follows their picture.

A bonus is that I also have a digital copy of the release form form my archives.
