What’s your favourite search engine?
Most people would answer with Google, as it is the most popular search engine on the planet. With 8 Billion Webpages to search and over 380 million people worldwide using it in over 35 languages no wonder Google is the most popular choice.
But did you know there are many more search engines on the internet, and with the help of Supttr, you can have access to over 90 search engines at once. Including Google news, Google Groups, Google Books and, well, the list seems endless.
So now you can have your cake and eat it.
Sputtr is a great idea because you can do many different searches on a word using as many search engines as you need to get to the best web sites.
How does Supttr work?
Looking at the screenshot below all you need to do is type in a word or product etc that you are looking for, click on one of the search engine icons underneath, and Sputtr will display the result, it’s that easy.

To make the most of this Web 2.0 application, it is best to create an account, because if you don’t see your favourite search engine on the Sputtr main page, you can very easily add a lot more, by clicking on “Customize this page” button which is placed at the top of the page, and add any of them from the list until your heart is content.
If you don’t have an account, you can still customise the page but if you logon to a different pc or close your web browser and clear your cookies, all your changes will be lost.
When creating an account all you are asked for is a username, password, and email address.
Sputtr works great in most of the popular web browsers. Opera, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer 6 & 7, Netscape and Safari 3.0.
Overall you will find this a great tool to use and over time you will find it indispensable.
The only thing I found using Sputtr was that when I clicked to search, the search didn’t open in a new window and to do a new search I had to click on the back button to go back to the main page. However if you go to the customize page all you need to do is click on the “Open searches in new” box and that solves the problem.
Click on the link to take you to the Sputtr main page.
So, now can you see how easy is it search for sites that matter?
