The Pen with Inbuilt MP3 Player, Radio and Voice Recorder

Technology is moving at an alarming rate, and we are becoming more and more reliant on digital gadgetry in our everyday lives, and less dependent on the good old pen and paper (well most of us are.) However, we still have the need for a pen now and again.

These days pens come in all shapes and sizes and I have rather a few myself, the more sophisticated they are the more I like them, which brings me on to the pen from Expocell.

This pen is not your average everyday ball point writer, as it has a few clever surprises up its sleeve, in the form of a 1 GB MP3 Music Player, built in FM radio, and the ability to record hours of your voice for note taking, oh, and did I mention it is a great pen to write with.

Take a look at some of its features:

  • Support various audio formats (MP1, MP2, MP3, WMA, WMV, ASF, WAV)
  • 7 kind of EQ: nature, rock, pop, classic, soft, jazz and heavy bass A-B repetition function
  • Built-in rechargeable lithium battery which gives you 10-12 hours of play time
  • Super-long voice/digital recording from built-in microphone
  • USB 2.0 high speed transmission
  • Supplied with headphones
  • Replaceable standard ink cartridges

The Pen with Inbuilt MP3 Player, Radio and Voice Recorder

This pen is a must for anyone who likes to carry data in their pocket, maybe from the office to home, listen to music on the go, and also be able to sign that multi million dollar check, we can dream.

How to Capture Every Keystroke With KeyKatcher

Monday, March 24th, 2008

I first came across the KeyKatcher gadget last year, by a friend of mine who runs his own business. He knew one of his employees was accessing an unauthorized PC and needed to find out who. Using the KeyKatcher, not only did my friend find out who it was, what internet sites they had been on, but also everything he had typed.

The KeyKatcher is very simplistic, easy to use, that could prove to be a very valuable tool for many people.
Below are some suggestions for its uses:

  • Small business users who want to find out which employees are accessing unauthorized computers, or using applications when they are not allowed
  • Home users who want to monitor unauthorized access to their computer or network.
  • You can use it to troubleshoot or make fixes by tracing back through a users command sequence.
  • Protect your children from the ever-present dangers on the Internet
  • Recover a letter or an email that you where writing when Windows locks up

Many applications are available on the internet to download and use to capture key strokes, however you need to install it on every pc that you want to trace. With KeyKatcher you don’t need to install any software. Key Katcher simply plugs in between your keyboard and your computer, and it is very discrete.

capture keystrokes with keykatcher

All keystrokes are stored in non-volatile memory, this mean if there is a loss of power or the PC is switched off, the information will not be lost.
To access the recorded information, type in the password that you created in the text editor and a menu is diplayed. You can view all the data, export it, delete it, search for keywords, view website addresses typed in and much more.

Below are some of its features:

  • It is Portable - move it from computer to computer.
  • Installs in seconds - Just plug it in.
  • Uses no system resources. Truly runs in the background.
  • Works with all PC Operating Systems with PS/2 keyboards. USB version available here
  • Data is retained even during system lock-ups and power outages.
  • No Software to learn. Use in conjunction with programs you already know.

Overall this is neat piece of gadgetry and so simple to use, however some people might be put off by its price. At the end of the day it depends on how much you value your secure information, security, or your childrens safety.

Highly recommended.

The Altec Lansing Marvellous Mini Speaker

Altec Lansing iM207 Orbit speaker

I have been looking for a small compact mini speaker for my Laptop, MP3 player, and Pocket PC/phone for sometime, as none of them have very good speakers.
All I was after, was something small, lightweight, compact, cheapish, with good sound quality, not much really, ha,ha.
I have tried and tested a few different speakers but cheap and great or at least good sound just don’t seem to go together.
That was until I tried the compact speaker from Altec, named the Lansing iM207 Orbit speaker.
I had read many good reviews about the iM207 and was looking forward to it arriving in the post from Amazon.

Sound Quality.
Once received, I tested the iM207 speaker on my Laptop, MP3 player and pocket pc/phone, and the clarity of the sound that came out of this speaker was very high considering its size. I listened to different types of music and was very impressed to say the least, the bass on the iM207 is nothing to write home about but was ok. If you are wanting deep sounding bass then this is not the speaker for you, but for its size is adequate for me.
The speaker does not have a volume button, and that might put some people off, but you don’t really need one as you just use the volume on the device its connected to.
The level of the volume really surprised me, and it filled the room with no problem at all, it seemed to chuck the sound around the room.
I found the speaker give the best sound when it was on a hard surface, like my kitchen table.

Size.
One of the best things about this speaker is its size, it measures 9cm (~3.5″) across and just over 3.5cm (~1.5″) tall, and can fit in the palm of your hand. This makes the iM207 very portable and easily fits into my Laptop bag or pocket.

Power
Just three AAA batteries provide the power and they have been in for nearly 3 weeks and still going strong. To turn the speaker on or off you need to grip the shiny silver top at the speaker and also the black base and rotate them in different directions. I have read a few comments of users having difficulty with this but mine was ok, possibly a little stiff.

Connecting.
The connecting cable is only about 20cm long which made it very easy to use. When finished with, it simply wraps around the speaker, in its own groove, popping into the provided recess. Which kept it neat and tidy.

Overall the more I used this speaker the handier it became, the iM207 speaker is very compact and solid and I took it nearly everywhere with me. Highly recommend as a travel speaker.

Oh and did I mention the price? You can buy them in the UK from Amazon for a mere £26.98.

Or if you live in the US they cost just $24.88, click below to go to Amazon.com
