Is There a Future for Morph and Flexible devices?

Do you find every time you upgrade your computer, Laptop, mobile phone, or some other piece of gadgetry, another better, faster, higher capacity (and often cheaper) model comes on to the market?
Technology is advancing at a fast pace, and this is one of the reasons I love it, and gadgets alike. It never ceases to amaze me, that with each new release, a more sophisticated, portable one comes out, oozing with a plethora of functions and settings, that are supposedly user friendly.
For example Sony have just released the latest PSP, and already designer Tai Chiem is thinking about the next generation of PSP, which uses a Flexible OLED screen, take a look. Although the device looks cool, it is not very functional, for example there is no joypad, and having the screen stored on the outside could render it damaged with a light knock.
Saying that, this is just a design of what the device could represent in the future. Do you think this could be the ultimate in portable computer gaming, or just another lost talented idea.
Did you know that there are nearly 4 billion mobile phones in the world, with 17 phones sold every second?
