Top 10 Most Popular Cameras and Accessories

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

A few weeks ago I compiled a list on the Best Selling Computer Systems and Equipment which was very popular, and I have been asked on a few occasions if I would produce another list on the best selling or most popular cameras and accessories.
The below list is again taken from Amazon, and the reason I use Amazon is that not only are they one the biggest online retailers, but over the many years I have used them I have found them to be very reliable, normally the postage and packaging is free, with a fast turn around, but best of all, if the item you purchase is not suitable you can always return it.
If you are after a camera or any accessories, this list is a great place to start, as not only can you see what is the best seller, but if you click on the link you can also read reviews of the product wrote by the people who bought it.

16 Inspirational Portrait Photography Techniques

For all you regular readers out there, you will have noticed that my blog posts have dropped from three a week to one :( , this is due to family and job commitments.
What I have decided to do is to write a post every Wednesday, and where possible also on a Friday. I have many great ideas and articles to write about and I hope that you will stick around. If you have an suggestions or comments, good or bad about this blog, or the articles I write about, then please leave a message in the comment box.
Is there anything you would like me to write about? Then please also leave a message in the comment box.

On to today’s post.
I could spend hours viewing other peoples photographs on the internet, as not only does it make you realize that there are some fantastic photographers out there, but every now and again we all need some inspiration and ideas, and the internet can be the place to go.
The other day I stumbled across a brilliant website called Epic Edits Weblog which is a photographic website run by a man called Brian Auer. What initially attracted me to the website was an article called 16 Inspirational Portrait Photography Techniques. Although the images on this particular post are taken them from Flickr, I love the way he has arranged them and added his own comments. I also feel that the website is very inspirational, and has got some excellent content, tips and tutorials, another great website to add to my RSS feeds. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Edit Create and Share Your Pictures Online With Adobe Photoshop Express

photoshop express

Adobe has just released an online image editor called Photoshop Express.
Don’t get too excited just yet, as this Flash 9 app is still in beta testing, and bears no resemblance what so ever to Adobe Photoshop, as some websites seem to be suggesting.

Photoshop Express is aimed at mainstream consumers, and is a very basic online application. However saying that it does have 17 editing tools that will allow you to remove red eye, remove blemishes, sharpen an image, change saturation, pop color, and crop (among other things).
You also get 2GB of storage space which means you can upload all your photos from your pc or even directly from Facebook, Photobucket, or Picassa. Your pictures are arranged in a collection that can be made available to others or kept private. Embedding and slideshow functionality is also available.

In order to use Photoshop Express you need to sign up, but before you do that, you can take this online application for a test drive.
Of course I couldn’t resist testing it myself, and to be honest, I found that although it is a basic web application, any editing task I gave it to do, Photoshop Express did it well and was reasonably quick in operation.

One feature I do like, is the option of always being able to revert back to your original photo, or any step of the editing process, quickly and effortlessly.
Currently Photoshop Express is aimed at the basic user or anyone else wanting to make minor adjustments to their photographs. I have read that Adobe is going to make Photoshop Express available to pro users, which will give them more storage space and other pro features, at a price, but when I am not sure.

Give it a try and let us know what you think, click here to go the website

Do you already use an online image editor, if so which one and how does it compare to Adobe Photoshop Express?
