		<description>Thanks for the tips.  As I tend to go for landscape shots, I've always tended to stick to AV mode. Also a hang over from my film camera days where I used aperture priority.  I have to admit to some laziness though - the Auto mode is very convenient!!</description>

Manual mode is a good way to learn about your camera settings, but it is the also the hardest way. Give it a try and if you find it hard going then I would try TV and AV modes.
